About
It’s important to note, straight away, that views expressed on this site are mine alone, and do not represent the opinions of any other human being, organization, employer, sentient machine or non-mammalian organism.
William M. Hartnett (that’s me) was born and raised in Florida, graduated from the University of Florida (where I spent most of my time at The Alligator), interned at the St. Petersburg Times and The (Lakeland) Ledger and went to work for The Palm Beach Post. So, I like Florida. Except for the hurricanes. And the hurricanes. And Vanilla Ice’s rampaging wallaroo.
I’m the Online Innovations Editor at The Palm Beach Post, so don’t even try being all Conservative Cat up in my area. This site is a place for me to offer unsolicited and occasionally uninformed opinions on topics such as journalism, the future of newspapers, how awesome my cats are, how much my Volkswagen sucks, etc. I try to stay at least loosely focused on newspapers and journalism, but I’m also rather easily distracted by shiny objects such as Flea Market Montgomery. The site also is a place for shameless, relentless self-promotion. I’ll share all my best work, then you’ll immediately begin formulating a lucrative job offer. Ideally, anyway.
For even more Hartnett, marvel at my extensive cat picture collection at Flickr, gaze at the less extensive cat picture galleries at my employer’s photo-sharing site, or review my bookmarks at del.icio.us. Pop in on me over at the Facebook, or check me out at LinkedIn. My wife and fellow journalist, Kathleen Chapman, also has a home on the web. I order you to check it out at kpchapman.com.
