Paper View Monday: Statesman Journal of Salem, Oregon
By William M. Hartnett on Apr 28, 2008 in newspaper buildings
The lever on my gigantic Paper View Monday machine has been jammed on “Florida” for a full five weeks now, and hasn’t spit out a western newspaper building since February. I think it’s sorted now, however, so let’s jet off to Salem, Oregon for a look at the Statesman Journal in Virtual Earth/Live Maps. Trivia I still find a little amazing: The Statesman Journal in 2006 won first place in the general excellence category of the state Better Newspaper Contest, two places ahead of a paper six times its size. Take that, you light rail-riding hippies.
