My wellness and yoga getaway in north Georgia

Well, not so much with the wellness and yoga, but we were in lovely north Georgia this weekend, near the wee town of Dahlonega, for a friend’s wedding. (It’s alleged that the phrase “thar’s gold in them thar hills” was first uttered in Dahlonega. I do love a good old-timey phrase.) The wedding, and our accommodations, were at Pura Vida USA, which bills itself a “Wellness and Yoga Retreat.” I skipped the yoga, and made no particular effort to achieve wellness, but it was a brilliant setting, nonetheless.

I’ve been to Dahlonega many times. I still have family in Cleveland, GA., which isn’t far from there. Helen, GA. is another quaint little place, which has river rafting and fudge-making shops in a Tudor style (why not Hellenistic? The world may never know…).
