Silly cycling socks solve sweaty summer situation
By William M. Hartnett on Aug 6, 2007 in oddities
I really, really hate wearing shoes, particularly during muggy Florida summers. It’s the long men’s dress socks that get me. I don’t know why it took me so long, but I think I may finally have found an acceptable compromise between going barefoot and wearing long, stupidly uncomfortable, instantaneously sweat-inducing socks: Low-cut cycling socks. I have loads of silly-looking but extremely comfortable, breathable cycling socks like the AirEator from DeFeet, so I popped on a pair this morning before sliding into my uncomfortable leather shoes. The early returns are promising. This could be a real revelation. Sure, I look quite odd, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay (some would say all too eagerly) for true, reduced-sweat foot comfort.
