We have an opening for a radio reporter/producer down here in South Florida. The Palm Beach Post is seeking a Radio Reporter/Producer. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual with strong radio production and journalism skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with excellent news writing and reading, strong radio production skills, and proven ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure. The candidate must be able to work independently, and as part of a team.
The candidate should be skilled at conducting research, interviewing, gathering audio, writing scripts and coordinating logistics for radio reports and feature stories.
The Radio Reporter/Producer reports to the Media Editor and handles all pre- and post-production radio and audio responsibilities. These include: Conceptualizing stories, writing scripts, recording and editing, plus final mix and transmission of radio stories to two major public radio stations in South Florida.
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or similar field.
- Experience in broadcast production, public radio preferred.
- Experience producing audio in Adobe Audition, Cool Edit, ProTools or similar broadcast digital audio systems.
- Demonstrated interest in digital media, including podcasting, blogging and trends in social media.
- Experience creating compelling mixed-media experiences, including photo editing or video production, is a plus.
This is a detail-oriented job requiring both strong radio production and organizational skills.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.
