> Martin High student suspended for mooning classmates (PB Post)
Just your routine story of a 13-year-old getting suspended for nine weeks because he allegedly mooned his classmates at the end of the previous school year. But this lede distinguishes the story: “A 13-year-old Palm City boy will miss out on the first nine weeks of his freshman year at Martin County High School. The reason: his buttocks.”
The reason: his buttocks. Excellent, just excellent. Speaking of typically Florida news, check this one out …
> Wildlife owner charged in girl’s mauling by cougar at party (AP via PB Post)
I think it’s safe to say that the lesson here is that a 62-pound cougar isn’t the most appropriate entertainment for a child’s birthday party. My house cat will flip out and bite your face if you sneak up on him from behind. The part that angers me is that the cougar was then killed so it could be tested for rabies. Then again, I always root for the predator. I hate it when a springbok escapes from a lion on a nature show.
