Will Sullivan officially elevated to pundit status. Demands for hefty consulting fees to follow?
By William M. Hartnett on Jun 27, 2007 in newspapers
Colleague Will Sullivan does the Q&A thing over at the Innovation in College Media blog, and reveals that he currently subscribes to 986 RSS feeds, which is TOTALLY INSANE. And to think Scoble gets all the attention for his paltry 622 subscriptions. Seriously, though, if Will tops 1,000 feeds I’m going to kidnap the guy and ship him off to some sort of sensory-deprivation rehab in the desert.

987. (I added one today.)

I should have probably noted that at least a hundred or two are personal stuff–friends, blogs, photostreams & hobbies and a few dozen have to be ‘dead’ blogs.

That’s one feed closer to the Sahara Clinic for RSS Addicts, then.
I’m at 154 feeds, which I can barely manage some days. Google Reader tells me that I’ve read an average of 233 items a day during the past month. So that’s about 1.5 items per feed per day. Applying that rate to your 987 subscriptions yields 1,480 items per day, and about 45,000 per month. My brain hurts just thinking about it.
