Yet another Google Analytics complaint
By William M. Hartnett on May 23, 2007 in geekery, whinging
Google Analytics hasn’t been reporting any results for more than 20 hours now. Annoyed. Drop by the Analytics Help section of Google Groups to commiserate if you’re similarly devastated by the loss of your statistical heroin drip. This is merely a personal annoyance for me, but I’d be livid if I was using Google Analytics professionally.

And this isn’t the first time this has happened, though I don’t remember a period where it’s been ‘down’ as long. Wouldn’t it be nice if they had an outage-board/status page? Or maybe even acknowledged the problem on their official Analytics blog?

Definitely don’t remember an outage this long since I started using GA a year ago. Given the popularity of GA, I’m a bit shocked at Google’s total lack of communication with their users. It’s been down for almost a full day, after all.

Techcrunch usually posts or “reports” (I use that term lightly considering the site) about Analytics outages, so I wonder if it’s not affecting everyone, just some of us..

I’m starting to see a few more people mentioning it. What I did just notice on TechCrunch was the news that Google apparently is in the final stages of acquiring FeedBurner. Wonder if this GA downtime is a preview of what I can look forward to from my FeedBurner account post-acquisition.

For what it’s worth, one of my sites has info showing up again - from midnight last night on. So I’m missing data from 1pm PST yesterday until 11PM PST yesterday.
And I just checked again, the other site I use GA on has info from midnight last night on as well.
The Feedburner thing is apparently true…

You may want to check your data again.
We had the same problems on our site and the data just updated.
There are a couple of threads in the Troubleshooting are of the Google Group for Analytics Help discussing this problem.
Please take a look. I’ve posted further comments there as well.

Yep - all of my data has now appeared, for both sites.
