Port St. Lucie: More than wallaroos

I never thought I’d see Port St. Lucie featured in the real estate section of The New York Times, despite it being the spring training home of the Mets. But there it is, courtesy of my coworker Charles Passy, of The Hungry Man fame.
Lest NYT readers think Port St. Lucie is just another boring suburban town, let me remind you that this is the city where, in 2004, a wallaroo named Bucky Buckaroo and a goat named Pancho escaped from the back yard of their owner, one Robert Matthew Van Winkle, aka Vanilla Ice, and wandered area streets for several days, menacing women and children.
A toast to Port St. Lucie! In this and other amusing events you have demonstrated an admirable and seldom-matched dedication to the bizarre.
